Raw Food Diet Plan

A simple raw food diet plan for you to enjoy:

Try fresh coconut water – gold to those following this program!  Added to a variety of dishes or enjoyed on its own, it’s full of electrolytes; better than any sports drink and as the nut ages the flavour of the milk changes.

  • Avocado with lime juice and fresh parsley
  • Fresh fruit salad
  • Carrot, Beetroot, kale, ginger & mint juice
  • Fresh Paw Paw with a side of sultanas, pecans, coconut chips & goji berries
  • Green blended smoothie (unlike juicing, blending retains all fiber and many more nutrients, plus you can add just about anything you need!)
  • Pineapple, ginger and orange crush, thin with water or coconut milk and serve with crushed ice & mint
  • Sprouted hemp seeds, mung beans and mustard with cherry tomatoes and fresh sliced mushrooms with a basil & garlic oil glaze

Get sprouting!  Sprout your own nuts, seeds, beans & grains for an exciting, crunchy and fresh extra ingredient. There are a multitude of things you can sprout all of which have their own distinctive flavour. Peanuts, pumpkins, cabbage, lentils, chickpeas, mustard greens, mung beans, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, snow peas, alfalfa, quinoa and sesame seeds to name but a few.  Many health food stores sell ‘sprout mixes’ too, just ensure you buy seeds intended for sprouting… they differ from ones intended for the garden.

  • Crunchy kale chips with guacamole dip
  • Dried apricots, mango, banana, pineapple & figs
  • Bananas
  • Fresh dates stuffed with goats cheese
  • Fresh nuts (Almonds, pecans, Brazil nuts, walnuts, cashews, macadamias, hazel nuts!)
  • Fresh olive tapenade
  • Raw tahini paste on sprouted bread

Find an entertaining blog about a raw food diet plan that encourages group discussions and recipe sharing.  Likeminded people experiencing the same things as you will often help strengthen your resolve, it will also help to ‘vent’ to people who understand.  Why do you think Weight Watchers is so successful!

Hemp seeds are an excellent addition to any raw food dish.  They have a sweet nutty flavour and are a complete protein.  They also contain many essential nutrients including; omega-3 & 6 fatty acids, zinc, Vitamin E, calcium and iron.

If you haven't already, feel free to visit the Raw Foods Diet page for a wider explanation.

Like any restrictive diet, dining out either publicly or socially with friends and family can be tricky. If heading to a restaurant perhaps call ahead and see what salads they offer.  Tell them your situation - they may be able to help.  Also don’t be too defensive or preachy.  If you’ve chosen to adhere to a raw food diet plan, great!  But don’t push it on others or offend them by critiquing their diet choices, even if all you want to do is help.  It is best to wait until asked for advice.

A quick browse online at some dedicated raw food networks and you will find some mouthwatering carefully constructed dessert recipes that easily replace traditional cakes, slices and sweets.
