HCG Diet Meal Plan
Its limitations make this an easy
to follow plan

The HCG Diet meal plan itself equates to only 500 calories per day consisting of organic meats, vegetables, and fish (no salmon, tuna or sardines). There are strict rules regarding what is prohibited including all forms of dairy, oils, carbohydrates, alcohol, and sugar.

A daily meal plan may consist of:

  • A piece of fruit and a black coffee for breakfast.
  • Steamed fish and raw vegetables for lunch.
  • A piece of fruit in the afternoon and a salad for dinner with a cup of tea.
  • Vegetable choices include spinach, Asian greens, lettuce, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage.
  • Fruit is limited to oranges, grapefruit, apples and strawberries.
  • The diet however allows as much water, coffee, and tea as you want.

If a dieter ‘slips up’ and goes above the 500 calorie limit they must drink only water and eat only apples (maximum of 6) for 24 hours to compensate.  If you haven’t already, visit our HCG Diet Info page to learn more about this weight loss program.

On a personal note:

Back in 2012 I tried the HCG diet meal plan for myself in conjunction with the HCG drops taken orally.  Like so many people, I was attracted to all the hype and many miraculous promises made – as well as all the fabulous before and after photos.  And at first it seemed to work for me.

Always seek medical advice, preferably
before commencing any diet

Proponents believe that the HCG hormone stops hunger in its tracks so you can consume a dangerously low amount of food – 500 calories a day - basically starving yourself without feeling any hunger.  Unfortunately I did and if I remember rightly, in these instances dieters were told to increase the dosage.  So I did and it helped however I still felt a degree of hunger all day long

But that is not what put me off the diet.  It was the side effects that bothered me the most.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m a strong believer in if it works for you, and it clearly does for many, than fad diet or not, give it ago until you can lose enough weight to feel confident enough to try a healthier, safer alternative.

Also there were many great benefits that I wish in many ways I could have continued with however the bad side effects really frightened me – all of which were mentioned in many of the forums based around this very popular weight loss program.  I will add my two cents worth below:

Good Side Effects

  • Excellent weight loss - a given really considering you are starving yourself.
  • Little or no body odour at all – from any part of my body!
  • My breasts swelled and firmed up like they did while breastfeeding – yes!  I really do miss that one.
  • Glowing skin, great nails, hair and clear eyes – a common reaction although many experienced the opposite.  I received many compliments!

Bad Side Effects

  • My periods became very irregular and I began clotting with massive blood loss – almost to the point of haemorrhaging.  At this stage I became very frightened and immediately stopped.
  • Upon further research I discovered that others had the same experience.  The good news is that once I stopped taking the drops my periods returned to normal almost immediately.  I just hope no long term damage was done.
  • Painful and heavy breasts – the downside to the obvious benefits.
  • Headaches.
  • Hunger.

So as you can see I had some rather pleasant results while following the HCG Diet meal plan and taking the HCG drops (there are also HCG injections available) however the serious side effects stated above overrode those almost immediately so no real weight loss occurred that I didn’t immediately put back on once I stopped the program.

But as always, people will do what people want to do.  Whatever you choose, be safe and go well J.
